SIDS Awareness Month (National Sudden Infant Death Awareness Month)

October is SIDS Awareness Month, focused on reducing sudden infant deaths through safe sleep education and family support. The goal is to help every baby sleep safely and every family feel informed and supported

Safe Sleep Tips:

  • Always place your baby on their back to sleep.
  • Use a firm, flat sleep surface without pillows or blankets.
  • Keep the crib in your room for the first 6–12 months.
  • Avoid smoking during pregnancy and after birth.
  • Never sleep with your baby on a couch or armchair

Do you know about the #ClearTheCrib Challenge?

The challenge is a fun and simple way to spread the word about keeping babies safe while they sleep. Try it with friends, during baby showers, parenting classes, or even at home on your own! Record your video, share it with the hashtag #ClearTheCrib, and encourage others to take the challenge too. Together, we can help more families learn how to create safe sleep spaces for their little ones.
