Infant Loss Awareness Month: How Village of Healing Supports Families on Their Healing Journey

Every October, we honor Infant Loss Awareness Month — a time to remember the babies who left us too soon and to support the families who carry their memory every day.

Losing a child, whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death, is a pain that words often fail to capture. Yet through awareness, we can help break the silence that so many families face in their grief. This month is about compassion, connection, and community and reminding parents they are not alone.

Ways to Support Families Experiencing Infant Loss

  • Offer a listening ear — sometimes presence means more than words.
  • Use the baby’s name when speaking with grieving parents (if they’ve shared it).
  • Light a candle or wear pink and blue to honor the babies gone too soon.
  • Share awareness posts and resources to help break the silence around infant loss.
  • Donate to or volunteer with organizations supporting grieving families.

At Village of Healing, we recognize that healing is not linear, and grief looks different for everyone. By creating safe spaces for conversation, offering emotional support, and promoting compassionate care, we honor the strength and resilience of those who have experienced this unimaginable loss.
